“Loneliness is not cured by human company. Loneliness is cured by contact with reality, by understanding that we don’t need people.”
—Anthony de Mello
Once you can acknowledge that you don’t actually need anyone, you’ll begin to enjoy people’s company. You can see them as they really are rather than trying to get something from them or trying to change them to fit your needs. Being independent is a trait that I really pride myself in. If you’re in my life it’s because I want you to be not because I need you. It’s imperative to appreciate people as they are—It’s also equally important to remind them.
